I think the question that I want to explore is how has anti-semitism changed since the Holocaust. Maybe even just analyzing like what Modern anti-semitism is now and why it’s so apparent, which I think takes a look back into history to see how it came about. Why Jews? Why so much hatred towards them? And what about Jews makes anti-Semitic people who they are?
Another thing that would be interesting to explore is like mental illness and what it is. And what constitutes medication versus therapy versus exercise and such. There has been so much discussion about mental illness, and I think it would be interesting to see how the vocabulary surrounding it has changed as well. I often hear a lot of my friends say “wow this test is giving me so much anxiety,” which is interesting because, in my experience, a mental illness like anxiety is not centered around one event or challenge. In fact, it causes challenges in itself and is not often a result of an oncoming obstacle. I’m actually going to a psychologist for testing next Monday, so it might be interesting to observe the behavior of my psychologist and see what she looks for in her patients when dealing with a diagnosis.
